Pair Of Louis Gabet System Rocking Coffee Maker White Porcelain Bronze Louis Philippe XIXth
Artist: Louis Gabet
Pair of rocking coffee makers with Louis GABET system, with vase on glass pedestal and pretty white porcelain reservoir, white porcelain base and chiseled gilt bronze mount, faucet with chimera and swan head. Nineteenth century.
In 1844, Louis Gabet invented the pendulum siphon. It separates the two containers which are placed next to each other (ceramic for water, glass for coffee); the water is transferred in a tube from one to the other by siphon effect. When the water is transferred to the second container, its weight increases and triggers a pendulum which automatically turns off the burner at the right time.
Price for the pair 900 €
