This sculpture represents the Immaculate Mother of God - Immaculata. This iconographic type developed in the 17th century, particularly in Spain, showing a young Mary in a dress and cloak, with a serpent at her feet, sometimes surrounded by angels. The sculptor represented the Virgin as a graceful young girl, with a serene and peaceful smile. Generous robes covering her entire body cascade over her body. The wooden sculpture is covered with tortoiseshell gilding. Baroque, 18th century. Height 41 cm, width 19 cm, depth 15 cm. Good condition, missing hands, rubbed gilding. Free delivery in EU. !
