A gold ring set with an agate cameo depicting the presentation of the Christ child at the temple in Jerusalem.

Italian, circa 1600.

Set in a high carat gold ring.

Intaglio alone measures 1.9 x 1.5cm, the ring is a size Q UK / 8 US.

There is a very small crack at the very bottom of the cameo, in the translucent part of the agate beneath the ground line of the relief.
