Chinese Decor Model For An 18th Century Saint Cloud Plate After Rouen
Rare model of a full decoration, called Chinese, for an 18th century earthenware plate of about 24 cm, probably from the Saint Cloud factory, copying a Rouen model. The wash drawing being marked at the bottom right with an S and a C with a number: 161. and it is noted below: "diameter 0.24 Afsiette imitation chinoiserie Rouen" It is placed in a later frame. Good condition, the paper is insolated, we see the mark of the old Marie-Louise which has been removed to reveal the inscription. The frame has a small lack at the bottom. Dimensions of the drawing in tondo: diameter: 24 cm. Dimensions seen: 33.5 x 34.5 cm, Dimensions with the frame 39 x 40 cm. total weight: 1140 g.
