"Louis XV Salon Furniture In Golden Wood On The Model Of The Elysée Palace (pompadour Salon)"
Beautiful living room furniture in finely carved and gilded wood, silk damask cover. It is made up of a 3-seater sofa, a series of 4 queen-size armchairs and a pair of chairs. Parisian work in the Louis XV style, and from the late 19th century. This is a very beautiful production from the 1880s, when the decorators were tired of the heavy pastiches of old styles in force under Louis Philippe and Napoleon III and had decided to return to a very pure 18th century style, with the perfection allowed by 19th century techniques. Our chairs by their proportions, formats and finishes are typical of the furnishings of the great Parisian mansions, the great castles of the Ile de France. For the restoration of these ceremonial seats, we have chosen to have them redone in the style of the Louis XV period furniture that adorns the Pompadour salon at the Elysée Palace. Very good condition, the seats are very robust with old restorations. The gilding is the original one from the 18th century, more faded than a gilding redone in the 19th century. The upholstery has kept its 18th century straps, we have had the seats upholstered in blue Pineapple silk by Tassinari and Châtel, exactly as at the Elysée Palace, and enhanced with gold thread stripes.
