Knife with a long, slightly curved steel blade; an old tool used to give the final shape to wooden clogs, including the instep, sides and sole.The wooden handle was embedded in a ring fixed to a block, allowing for precise work.
Each region had its variations, this one here comes from Faurel, L’Hôpital Angoisse, and dates from the 19th century. Faurel knives are particularly sought after for the quality of their manufacture.
CONDITION: Good general condition, steel blade slightly pitted by rust.
