Wax Case, Lille, 1750-70, Sterling Silver, Adrien-joseph Le Mesre
Extremely rare wax case with the hallmark of a master silversmith from Lille, Adrien Joseph Le Mesre, received master in 1749. Delicately engraved on its entire surface with typical Louis Seize motifs. The lid is carved with an unidentified patrician coat of arms and is designed to serve as a cachet. The case weighs 40 grams and is 10 cm long.
