Exceptional sculpture "the winning athlete" in bronze, lost wax, signed P. de Soete for Pierre de Soete (1886-1948).
Belgian artist from the Brussels Academy, eclectic sculptor practicing monumental art.
Signed and dated 1924 on the back of the sculpture as well as the inscription "dedicated to my friend Georges de Veyloer, lost wax.
At the bottom of the right shoulder, we find the stamp: Batardy lost wax Brussels, see photo.
