Altarpiece In Golden Wood, Louis XIV Period
Superb altarpiece from the Louis XIV period, of French origin, this piece adorned a church, there was generally a religious statuette on the hot seat. All wood, this altarpiece is decorated with different decorations, the saddle is carried by a decoration of acanthus leaves and lined with a lambrequin. The mercury mirror is original, it is bordered by a tangle of foliage climbing up to the pediment. This one is curved and adorned with a lambrequin decoration resembling that of the harness. The interior of the pediment represents a starry sky, which suggests that the statuette of the altarpiece must have been the Virgin Mary.
