The painting measures 22 x 17cm and 43.5 x 38.5cm in its later ebonised frame.
Part of a series of the Virtues by Francesco Villamena (1564 - 1624). The complete series of virtues were created for a book in honour of the funeral of Pope Sixtus V. "La pompa funerale" originated and were published in Stamperia Vaticana. The six virtues were also published individually.
