"Exceptional Hungarian Brooch 17th"
Exceptional 17th century Hungarian brooch Set with emeralds, rubies and natural baroque pearls. This museum quality brooch dates from the mid 17th century. Several similar examples can be admired at the National Museum of BUDAPEST. The alloy of the brooch consists of vermeil silver and pompone (golden copper). It is enhanced with enamel, one of the characteristics of Hungarian jewelry. To note: some enamel swings. The brooch is set in its center with a very beautiful emerald, weighing +- 2 carats. The brooch is also set with several rubies and emeralds, some stones have some fractures. All stones and pearls are original. We are in the presence of a jewel preserved in its original state. No restorations. The jewelry consists of two parts, the crown and the medallion.
