Silas BROUX was born on October 15, 1867 in Roubaix. A student at the National School of Decorative Arts in PARIS from 1886, Silas BROUX won first prize in the live model and plant drawing competition. He was notably a pupil of Gustave Moreau and Jules-Elie Delaunay. He exhibited at the Salon of French Artists in Paris from 1891 to 1956. Several of his works are kept in Alençon at the Musée d'Alençon and in Roubaix at the Piscine.
