Paul Duboy (1830-c.1887) - Diana The Huntress
Paul Duboy is a French sculptor who trained with Gecloeter and C. Elshoecht at the Beaux-Arts in 1849. Elshoecht at the Beaux-Arts in 1849. His bronzes were exhibited at the Paris Salon between 1853 and 1882.
Our sculpture is a Diana the Huntress, identifiable by the bow she holds in her left hand and the greyhound at her feet. She is dressed in an antique style, a style particularly appreciated during the Second Empire.
