"Splendid Chalice 18th In Silver, Vermeil And Gold"
Splendid 18th century chalice in silver, vermeil and gold. This chalice probably Italian. (Illegible hallmark) is in a pure Italian baroque style. All sconces set with semi-precious stones are in solid gold (between 18 and 21 carat for the title) all sconces have been dismantled for complete cleaning. The weight of all gold appliques is 78 gr gross. We are in the presence of a very high quality work probably intended for a high ecclesiastical member. (Cardinal, Archbishop) The decoration is entirely engraved and repoussé. The original vermeil is in extraordinary condition. Presence of an illegible punch and an erased punch (wear). Also engraved on the FE foot. PAN HEIGHT: 27.5 cm Total weight: 790 gr.
