An unusual vase with hand painted scenes: a pair of ducks, a pair of hens with a rooster and a scene with figures passing time inside a Japanese building. The whole is surrounded by extremely colorful and intricate representations of various plants, such as chrysanthemums or Japanese ume plums in bloom. Scenes painted with finesse and the precision of a watchmaker. Kutani, Japan, Meiji era (1868-1912), signed on the base "Dai Nippon Kutani Tsukuru". Height 34 cm, diameter 22 cm.
