"Two Body Buffet, Brittany Nineteenth Century."
This very small sideboard is in chestnut, of Breton origin, it opens on the front with four doors and three drawers, its front legs end in a volute. It is sculpted on the upper and lower crosspieces as well as on the lower frames of flowering branches, the false frame of the upper part is decorated with a kind of console element under which falls a flowering branch. The doors are fretted around the perimeter and the uprights with cut sides have a slight projection. The doors are embellished with brass keyholes, engraved with various patterns, and adorned with a small marine anchor, the drawer pull handles are later. In excellent state of conservation, the chestnut is reputed to be almost rot-proof, it has however undergone some restorations, the cornice which had to be lost in the past has been redone and the two rear legs have been grafted. These exceptional dimensions make it a very small two-part piece of furniture that is easy to place. His popular art-inspired sculpture work gives him a lot of charm. Dimensions: height 191 cm, width 118 cm, depth 59 cm.
