Important Two-part Louis XV Charolais Walnut Buffet, 18th Century
An important two-part Louis XV Charolais walnut buffet, dating from the 18th century, featuring a beautiful curved design and richly carved decoration. The upper section opens with two molded doors, highlighted by wide, shaped rails and surmounted by a scrolled cornice. In the center, an inlaid medallion adorned with a stylized floral motif adds an elegant decorative touch. The lower section opens with two doors and three drawers in the frieze, including a central drawer, embellished with brass handles and keyhole escutcheons. The panels display beautiful, warm, and well-contrasted walnut grain. The whole rests on cabriole legs with a carved lower rail.
