Trained at the Brussels Academy by Anto Carte and A. Bastien. Rome Prize (1937), Graphic Arts Prize (Zurich, 1953), Critics' Prize (1953, 1956, 1957) and Silk Screen Prize (New York, 1957). From 1941, participates in the Contribution group. Professor at the Louvain Academy. After a tendency to animism, it evolves towards informal art. Then practice a form of raw art.
