Dan Mask
A Liberian tribal mask, African Great Dan "Bagle", similar to another in our catalog. A form of entertainment mask, which makes fun of others by imitating their actions. This piece with open round eyes, wooden face, also has a headdress. A row of cowries is attached to the fabric in the forehead area, with lines of fabric also on the chin where a small beard of vegetable fibers is attached. The back is made up of various fabric swatches with attached cowries and several feathers at the end.
