Pierre Thuillier, born June 17, 1799 in Amiens and Died November 19, 1858 in Paris, was a French landscape painter. He is associated with the Barbizon School. Pierre Thuillier is a student of Louis Étienne Watelet. He painted in his native region and around the forest of Fontainebleau in 1831-1832. He participated in the Paris Salon from 1831 to 1857 and was rewarded four times. He notably obtained a 1st class medal in 1839 and in 1848. During his apprenticeship, he met Théodore Caruelle d'Aligny with whom he went to work in Italy. He made numerous stays in Europe (Germany, Italy, Switzerland) and in North Africa (Algiers) before returning to paint landscapes in France (mainly in Auvergne). At the Geneva exhibition in 1854, he received first prize. In 1843, he was elevated to the rank of Knight of the Legion of Honor.
