This large format, in its original frame bearing a G.Vanaise cartouche, bears presentation labels at the Salon on the back. Especially in Dresden. This Portrait of a pensive woman, presented in a museum or collector's interior, with numerous paintings and a bas-relief in the background, is beautifully crafted. It is in good condition, on its original canvas and frame. Vanaise, a native of Ghent, also studied in Brussels, was the founder of the group of Twenty.
