Sauteuse Commode Louis XVI Period - Work From The East - Walnut - 18th
Exceptional chest of drawers from the Louis XVI period in marquetry. Very original 18th century work probably from eastern France and more specifically it would be a fitting chest of drawers. It is worked in walnut and other fruit woods. The top is decorated with a beautiful marquetry in the same wood species coupled with boxwood and larch. These last two woods are typical of the work of cabinetmakers in mountainous regions. It rests on four high legs with a tapered square section. Rare and high quality work. Finally, fine quality chiseled bronzes adorn the drawers. Furniture with strong decorative potential, to be associated with old and more contemporary decors.
