Large old painting from the end of the 19th century, oil on canvas signed lower right Louise Landré, representing a naked circus artist putting on makeup in her dressing room. Superb composition taken from life, for this painter, a pupil of Chaplin who exhibited at the Salon from 1887. On the back of the frame, an exhibition label with the title of the painting and a catalog number. In a beautiful Regency giltwood frame bearing the title of the work in a cartouche "Before the Parade".
