"Bronze Musician: Lully Child Signed By Ae. Gaudez (1845 - 1902)"
This bronze medal patina represents the musician Lully as a child, tuning his violin. This bronze is complete with the violin and the archer, this piece being often absent. This bronze is by Adrien Etienne Gaudez born in Lyon in 1845 and died in Neuilly sur Seine in 1902. Signed on the terrace with the stamp of the founder (difficult to decipher). This bronze is interesting because Lulliy puts his foot on a saucepan next to a cauliflower, as a child he was noticed in 1646 by the Duke of Guise who placed him in the service of the Duchess of Montpensier, who wanted to perfect his knowledge of Italian. This did not go well with Lully, who was placed in the kitchen. The young Lully, extremely gifted for music, perfected himself in contact with the Duchess's orchestra, even created "the company of violins of the Grande Mademoiselle" and entered into 1659 in the service of King Louis XIV. Height without the base: 47 cm with the base 4 cm
