"Windbreaks In The Mountains By August Friedrich Piepenhagen (czech 1791 - 1868)"
A beautiful little mountain landscape was executed in the middle of the 19th century by one of the most famous representatives of Czech romanticism in the 19th century August Friedrich Piepenhagen (1791 Prussia - 1864 Praque). Piepenhagen came from humble beginnings and first started a button study. The associated migration led him to Switzerland, where the impressive landscape suggested self-didactic tagging attempts. 1831 he came to Prague, where he is expected to stay in the future. His first exhibitions followed and his wedding in Prague. Piepenhagen had to devote a large part of his life to feeding his family although he was able to sell many of his landscapes. His two daughters Charlotte and Louise were also trained with him as painters. Piepenhagen died on the Generalka property in Prague. He is buried in the Protestant cemetery in the Prager suburb of Karolinenthal. His tomb was arranged by sculptor Thomas Seidan. Piepenhagen's landscapes, romantically and trendy arranged, enjoyed great popularity with Prager audiences. His paintings were collected cleanly, but were also not very expensive to buy. Adalbert Stifter, even also a landscape painter, considered Piepenhagen extraordinary and signified that he was "the most poetic landscape painter I know now". Piepenhagen's landscape works are coming to international auctions at remarkable prices of up to 30,000 euros.
