"Antonin Ivanovich Soungouroff (1894,?) Portrait Young Boy"
Antonin Ivanovitch SOUNGOUROFF (1894,?) Portrait of a young boy, harlequin with mask oil on canvas, signed painter of Russian origin 55cm by 46cm without frame 61 cm by 51cm with Soungouroff, born in Russia and who lost his parents during the Revolution, made his studies at a college in Istanbul, Egypt and Bulgaria. After which, it was the Beaux-Arts in Paris. His work is also inspired by port boys, romantic and pensive ragazzi. Their muscular and finely solid side never prevents nostalgia from enveloping them. What are they all waiting for? Love, departure, freedom, or the clarification of their own enigma ... It is strange that Soungouroff, of Slavic origin, given his cosmopolitan childhood as a precocious traveler, has devoted himself to such a clear predilection, without choosing to translate the puzzle of his memories: to represent almost always the same facies, a single glance.
