Drawing with a typically romantic subject representing an old man and a young boy probably serving as his guide. Beautifully crafted, this drawing is dated 1843 and signed (Solvyns?). Probably from a Belgian school (the name 'Solvyns' is widespread in Antwerp in the 19th century).

Drawing (graphite) on paper, 35 x 28 cm, signed and dated 1843 lower right.
Drawing in good condition. Presence of slight bites, paper glued (formerly) on another (slight curl on the back, peripheral gluing).
