Brown patina bronze proofs representing the Young Fisherman dancing the Tarantella and the Dancer with a Tambourine, Signed in hollow on the base F.Duret et Delafontaine. These two sculptures evoke the "troubadour" style dear to the Romantics and highlight the memories of antiquity collected in Italy.
Duret signed a publishing contract with the founder Quesnel for the following works:
Young fisherman dancing the tarantella, the Improviser, Mercury inventing the lyre, Neapolitan dancer.
The publishing rights for this contract, according to C.B. Mettman (the small publishing sculpture 1944),
were transferred by Quesnel to Delafontaine around 1855.
