Boiken Headrest, Papua
Very nice neck support from the 1940s from the Prince Alexander Mountains in Papua, characterized by an ancestor's head at one end and a bird's head at the other. The underside of the headrest is carved with a bat and still has some traces of white pigments. One of the legs was replaced during the long life of this utilitarian object considered today as a work of art.
