Object description :

"Pair Of Officer Pistols, Model 1833 2nd Type "
Octagonal "ribbon" barrels, slightly blundered at the mouth, gray tanned.
Caliber 18 mm with 48 "hair" stripes.
They are dated "1847" on the right side and engraved "MR" for Manufacture Royale. They include the L and D punches of the controllers and revisers on the left side and the crowned punch of the inspector at the foot of the chimney.
Marbled backplates, signed "Mre Rle de Châtellerault". Marbled percussion dog.
Walnut stock with finely squared short shaft and stamped with a D.
All fittings are marbled steel.
The ring caps are unscrewed to give access to a housing allowing to keep the reserve fireplace and pod (absent).
Steel rod with brass head.
These weapons are close to new.
