High quality Biedermeier animal painting by the famous Austrian artist August Gerasch (1822 -Vienna - 1908). August Gerasch was a pupil of Leopold Kupelwieser and PJN Geiger at the Academy of Vienna. Later he became a renowned genre painter and lithographer with regular participation in Austrian art exhibitions.
