Claude Vanier (simon Abramovitch, 1910-1958) Landscape

Artist: Claude Vanier (simon Abramovitch, 1910-1958)
Claude Vanier, Simon Abramovitch known as (1910-1958) Landscape, gouache on paper, cm. 50,5 x 66,5.
Signed lower right.
With frame: cm. 63,5 x 79,5 x 2.

Provenance: Paris, private collection

After attending the Havre Academy of Fine Arts, he moved to Paris where he worked in various academies in Montparnasse. In the meantime, he continues his studies until he wins the competition for teaching history.
He participates in the most important Salons in the French capital and after the first exhibition in 1929, he continues to set up personal exhibitions in the main Parisian galleries.
Following the example of the great masters Boudin, Jongkind and Friesz, he is very fond of landscape painting, especially marinas.
Initially seduced by Impressionist painting, Vanier later let himself be conquered by the pure color of the Fauvist tendencies, of those painters (including Matisse, Vlaminck, Derain, Friesz, Manguin, Van Dongen) who, moving away from Impressionism, gave scandal to the Salon d'Automne in Paris in 1905 for the wild expressive violence of color, applied in strong and pure shades and which the French critic De Vauxcelles had called with the nickname of “fauves” or “beasts”.
Among his travels, we mention that in Italy, in Venice, of which several works remain.

The painting is in very good condition.
