Pupil of Jullian, Henri Lerolle and Gustave Colin. from 1890 he worked alongside Vuillard, Toulouse-Lautrec, Bonnard; friend of Félix Valloton In 1899, he worked at Le Figaro using his sense of caricature. In 1904, he exhibited a large portrait of Cézanne with Fauve influence.
