The goli mask is directly linked to the festivities of the same name (there are four main festivals among the Baulé: gba gba, bonu amen, mblo and goli). The "goli" celebrates new harvests, visits from important people and times of mourning. Originally, this masked tradition was borrowed from the Wan, a group related to the Gouro. Three types of masks are worn and appear successively during the festivities
