Rare chryelephantine representing the goddess Athena. Her right ivory arm rests on her shield adorned with the head of Medusa. On her ivory head she wears a large gilt bronze helmet Her richly draped dress is also in gilded bronze . Difficult to date it exactly in the XIXth century; The subject is neoclassical par excellence. The abundance of the drape and the extravagant plume of the helmet could make lean for the Napoleon III era The statue measures 22.5 cm with its base and is in excellent Condition Beautiful gilding, some negligible losses on the small circular plinth.
