"Burma, Beginning Of The XXth Century, Votive Altar Bronze Buddha."
Burma, early 20th century, very pretty and unusual bronze votive altar depicting Buddha sitting in padmasana in the position of taking the earth as a witness (bhumisparsa mudra). The altar, with a lotiform base, has an openwork floret at the back. The uprights are decorated with animals. Existence of some traces of polychromy on Buddha and the altar. Realization of good quality. Good condition except for slight normal wear and tear. Total height 31 cm. Height of Buddha alone 14 cm.
