Extremely rare cut-off pewter goblet, scalloped lip and small foot. Engraved in full with the large coats of arms of Emperor Francis II and dated 1805. Inscriptions in capital letters MT RAJ Hallmark of Johann Georg Stoll the younger, master in Vienna around 1759 and embossed mark IG STOLL / IN WIEN. 14cm high 11cm in diameter History: This cup was given by the emperor during the foot washing ceremony on Maundy Thursday. Indeed, each year, like many reigns, Emperor Francis II, performs this ceremony inherited from Christian tradition. Special feature: This goblet is the only one known from the reign of François II (1804-1835). It is also the oldest known goblet for Austria. A dozen others are present in museums or in private hands.
