This bronze sculpture from the 50s / 60s was produced exceptionally by the Louvre Museum to allow a renewed look at anthropomorphic sculpture. This "Idol" allows us to cross our reflection on Anatolian and Cycladic statuettes at the turn of the Chalcolithic and the Bronze Age. Cycladic idols are well known for their beauty qualified as modern; those from Anatolia share the same taste for a synthetic representation of the human figure. This will not be without evoking the fertile influence of the Cycladic idols on artistic production in the 20th century through the years 1900-1950 thanks to a few confrontations with iconic works by Brancusi, Giacometti, Zadkine… Stamp on the back du Bronze: "Louvre Museum Paris France" This one is presented on a marble plinth.
