Mounted on a magnificent brown mare, an officer of artillery in exercise or field dress (known as underwear), made up of a black cloth jacket with a straight collar, adorned with seven buttons, with pointed braids on the sleeves and black cloth breeches and red braid. The artillery services managed the workshops which manufactured cannons, portable weapons of all kinds, ammunition (artillery and infantry), as well as service cars for all weapons. Artillery Guards and Weapons Controllers were responsible for the surveillance, maintenance and control of stored material. In 1901, they were finally assimilated to other administrative officers.
