Here we see her sitting with her naked body on a shell-shaped car. She is accompanied by a nymph lying in the half-light next to her, and a small winged fauna who follows her swimming with her hand resting on the shell. The body of the splendid sea creature is prosperous and its nudity is enhanced by the strong light which envelops it and makes it shine in the center of the painting between the sky and the sea. The painting, from the French school, follows the models by Antoine Coypel, author of several works on this subject, and is probably an excellently executed preparatory study for a great work. The canvas has already been professionally cleaned and lined and is in excellent condition.
