Old Mirror Engraved On The Back Representative Europe On The Toro 27.5x49.5 Cm
Superb mirror crafted in Italy around the 1950s.
It was very likely originally framed, as suggested by the irregularities along the edge and a few small chips visible (see the last photo in the series).
It is engraved on the reverse and was silvered afterwards. The engraving work is exceptional: it reveals multiple depths and remarkable detail in the mythological scene depicted, showing the goddess Europa being abducted by Zeus, who has transformed himself into a white bull.
