They have a classic shape for the time and are of a nice rather heavy quality.
Each plate is hallmarked with the head of Saint-Michel, the crowned lion of the Duchy of Brabant, the date letter W (1747) and the master silversmith's mark CT surrounding a tree, generally attributed to Carolus Timmermans. (Corneille ´t Serstevens would be an alternative attribution).
This series was part of the great Brussels goldsmith exhibition at the end of the twentieth century and appears in the catalog.
To my knowledge, this is the only series of dinner plates from the first half of the eighteenth century known in Brussels.
