Round box in brown tortoiseshell, gold cage mount. It is decorated with a circular pattern and fine friezes of flowers. Each circular pattern and floret is inlaid with small iridescent mother-of-pearl pellets. Some missing mother-of-pearl.D: 2.95in. (7,5 cm)/ H: 1.18in. (3cm).
Gold marks of the 18th century:
Jurande’s mark: Henri Clavel (1781-1783).
Discharge mark: head of cherub (1781-1783).
Charge mark: letter crowned date T: 1783.
Work of the Louis XVI period.
