From 1929 to 1943, he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes français. He represented Lower Normandy with Emile Dorrée at the Universal Exhibition. François Enault said of him: “he painted in patois” because he succeeded, in fact, in capturing his corner of the earth in a sentimental way.
