Born in Bremen, Germany in 1893, Dietz Edzard was a pupil of Max Beckmann. He traveled through Germany, Holland then came to settle in France. He appeared in 1929 at the Jeu de Paume at the exhibition of Contemporary Painters-engravers.
It was exhibited at the Durand-Ruel gallery.
A painting by this artist is kept at the Musée de Grenoble.
