"Regency Tomb Commode"
Regency period chest of drawers. Beginning of the 18th century. Work from the South West: Armagnac or Bigorre. The facade and the sides are curved in elevation. The front uprights are carved with a lambrequin and a shell, scoured from two reserves and terminated with so-called “snail” winding feet. The low crosspieces are scalloped, the front one being carved with a leaf pattern. This chest of drawers opens with three drawers. It has retained its original iron handles and locks. It also has its three original locks which are perfectly functional and provided with a key. It is relaquée off-white color with bluish gray rechampi. Faux marble painted top.
