He began his training at the municipal school of fine arts in Puy-en-Velay then studied at the Ecole des Beaux-arts in Paris in the workshops of Jean-Paul Laurens, Luc-Olivier Merson and Raphaël Collin.
He will receive several Prizes. He exhibited for the first time at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1912. In addition to the canvases regularly presented in various Salons, he received orders for decorations for churches and public buildings (Salle des Fêtes du Plessis-Robinson, 1959).
Works by him are kept in his hometown of Puy-en-Velay, at the Crozatier museum and a Landscape in Lempdes at the Museum of modern and contemporary art in Saint-Etienne.
