Louis XV Louis XVI Transition Commode
Chest of drawers in ivory, sycamore, boxwood, ebony, amaranth, rosewood, and rosewood from the XX period. Indeed this chest of drawers is a copy of the chest of drawers made by Georges Schlitig (died in 1782 and received master in 1765) for Marie Antoinette's apartment in Versailles in the eighteenth century. We will notice the realization in three drawers, two without crosspieces as well as the initials MA in a cartouche on the upright (with Marie Antoinette's figures). This chest of drawers bears an iron mark of the house of Daïdé François à Revel as well as a delivery label on the back for the owner. The marquetry represents gallant scenes of the Court of France in an architectural landscape. This chest of drawers has been entirely restored with old-fashioned stamp varnish.
