Rare ceremonial sword and its leather scabbard.
The blade is flat and sharp on both sides.
The guard is made of wood covered with fabric and on top of leather and decorated with upholstery nails on one side.
The handle is covered with a snakeskin.
The pommel is wrought iron and represents a crown. Inside we can see red and indigo fabrics.

Purchased in 1965 from a sculptor in Abengouro. Kingdom of Indénié, Agni people, Ivory Coast.
