Ornament, Sepik River, Papua New Guinea
An ornament made from a piece of seashell. Two holes have been drilled in the upper part to thread a cord of braided plant fibers through. The lower part has three holes from which hang charms made of plant fibers and fabric.
This ornament was worn by dignitaries during ceremonies.
